I am proud to serve as the President of the Oakland Bay Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated for the 2018-2020 program years. As President, I am committed to the core values of Jack & Jill which is providing our children with outstanding programs, increasing their exposure to community service and leadership opportunities; increasing communication and outreach to our local community; and being thoughtful, involved leaders within Jack and Jill and beyond. I do not take the responsibility as President lightly, and I look forward to working with the chapter in executing excellent programming during my tenure.
The Oakland Bay Area Chapter is an exceptional chapter with amazing women from all spectrums of life experiences and professions. I believe if you want to make a difference then you need to be involved. Therefore, I encourage our Sister-Mothers to attend Mother’s Meetings, support and attend Group activities, attend mother’s get-togethers, support the chapter’s community service and fundraising activities, support our Teens, encourage our Fathers to participate, support other chapters in our cluster, attend Area Work Days, Teen Conferences, and Regional and National conferences. We should not be Jack and Jill members in name only; rather we should be willing to serve and contribute our time and talents to the chapter.
We live in turbulent times so it is imperative that we have an organization that is a place of refuge; a place where lifetime friendships are formed and a source of support for our Sister-Mothers and for our children.
Our children are amazing and so our chapter will continue to move forward by exposing our youth to multiple opportunities to give back to our community, partner with local groups to increase the chapter’s community service presence in the Bay Area and develop mentor relationships in our chapter and beyond.
Sister-Mothers, your skills and support are what are needed to move the Oakland Bay Area chapter forward. I am excited to work with you so that our chapter retains its commitment to do just that.
Long Live Jack and Jill!
